AMSTERDAN, Netherlands, March 4 (UPI) -- A hearing is
scheduled Friday for a Swedish man who was preparing to fly a
jetliner from Amsterdam to Turkey with a forged pilot's license,
authorities say.
Dutch police removed the 41-year-old would-be pilot from the
cockpit of a Boeing 737 jetliner with 101 passengers on board just
minutes before the plane was scheduled to take off for Ankara,
Turkey, Sweden's The Local reported Thursday.
Turkey's Corredon Airlines found a replacement for the pilot
and the flight took off on time Tuesday evening.
The suspect told police he has been flying with a forged
license for 13 years for companies in the United Kingdom, Belgium
and Italy.
His arrest came as the result of a tip from Swedish
authorities, Dutch police say.
